Laparoscopic surgery for uterine myoma
Laparoscopic surgery for uterine leiomyoma can be divided into two groups: organ-preserving surgery and surgery to remove the uterus.
General indications for surgery: size of one of the nodes more than 6 cm, node growth doubling or more than a year or less, total uterus size more than 12 weeks gestation, presence of complaints (bleeding, pain) related to uterine leiomyoma.
The possibility of preserving the uterus is decided on a case-by-case basis. Uterine artery clipping is often used to remove uterine nodules, which helps to remove the nodules more effectively and with less blood loss and maintain the integrity of the uterus.
Laparoscopic intrafascial extirpation is used to remove the uterus: a technique that allows the uterus to be removed without damaging the pelvic floor and sacroiliac ligaments. In some cases, it is possible to use a supravaginal uterine amputation where the cervix is preserved.
