Surgery for adnexa uteri tumors
Surgery on the appendages of the uterus (adnexa uteri) is one of the first surgeries that began to be widely performed laparoscopically. This is largely due to the ease of performing these surgeries. However, this is not always the case. In the case of adhesions, with large tumor sizes, in the case of endometriosis the surgery becomes extremely complicated. Surgery on the adnexa uteri for endometriosis is presented in a separate chapter. Surgery for ectopic pregnancy is also in a separate chapter.
Here we will focus on the remaining surgeries. This page contains various clinical cases of surgery on the uterine appendages.
Laparoscopic removal of a dermoid cyst
Laparoscopic removal of a huge serous cystadenoma
In order to limit the cyst from the abdominal cavity and exclude the ingress of cyst contents into the abdominal cavity, an oversized container was created by ourselves.
Year: 2021 Huge dermoid cyst
A dermoid cyst is a benign ovarian tumor that contains fat, hair, and skin fragments inside. Sometimes there can be teeth, last year during surgery we found an unformed eye inside the cyst. But this time the cyst was clearly not usual.
A girl was admitted for surgery for a dermoid ovarian cyst up to 13 cm in diameter. Laparoscopy revealed a large amount of fat and a jaw fragment with 13 teeth inside the cyst! This is the first time in my practice that I have seen such formed teeth and such a large number of them.
